Activities and sports

In the Haute-Vienne, everything is possible! Climbing up trees for an eventful session of treetop games, treating yourself to a sailing course on the lakes of Saint-Pardoux and Vassivière, water-skiing on Meuzac Lake. You can also walk across the flower-covered moors, cycle in the steps of Richard the Lionheart, follow the Saint-Jacques Way, picnic on banks of the Briance, try out the cyclo-rail or sleep in a ’Limousin yurt’. Unless you decide to gallop in the foothills of Mont Gargan, fly-fish in the Vienne’s running water, play golf or go rollerblading on green trails… And end the day knowing that tomorrow will be just as good.

Walks, hikes and rides

Over 2,000 km of marked paths, among them the Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle pilgrim route, crisscross Haute-Vienne: go walking along 2 local looped itineries (Monts de Blond, Monts d’Ambazac and the “Pass across the fields” path of Saint-Pardoux district) and numerous short-distance paths. (...)

Sailing and windsurfing

The two large lakes of Vassivière and Saint-Pardoux in their beautiful preserved countryside welcome sailing schools, competitions, courses and boat hire.

Golf

Both Limousin’s relief and climate are ideal for golf which needs perfect greens and wide open spaces. There are 3 magnificent 18-hole courses in the Haute-Vienne and 1 9-hole course.
