Staging villages

A Staging Village (in French) is a village of less than 5000 inhabitants situated on a non-toll motorway (A20) or a 4-lane major road. There are 4 in the Haute-Vienne: Bellac, Bessines sur Gartempe, Pierre-Buffière et Magnac-Bourg.

A Staging Village must be able to offer all the services that a traveller needs on their journey: restaurants, hotels, shops for basic necessities, cash dispenser, parking, picnic tables and many other services; and all in a pleasant setting.

Stopping in a Staging Village is to invent another way of travelling - discover the places you’re going through! Each village has a Tourist Office that can propose visits according to the time you have and what you want to do: from hikes to heritage trails passing through the département or region.
